They say time flies when you’re having fun, but in my case, time has flown because I have been honored to do work that I truly love, in the city that has always been my home.

It feels like just yesterday I was getting my real estate license, nervous but incredibly excited to help my first client navigate the complex world of buying a home in Albuquerque. Now, here I am, celebrating my 20th anniversary as a real estate agent in the Duke City.

Two decades. Twenty years of changing markets, new technologies, and a growing skyline. Yet, when I sit back and think about what this anniversary really means, my mind doesn’t go to the number of contracts I’ve signed or the awards I’ve won.

My mind goes to the families.

Serving Hundreds of Albuquerque Families: It’s Personal

Over the past 20 years, I have been privileged to serve hundreds of families. I want to be clear: I have never viewed my work as mere "transactions." To me, real estate is personal. It is about being invited into your life during one of the most significant moments your family will experience.

I have seen the joy on the faces of first-time homebuyers as I handed them the keys to a starter home in the Northeast Heights. I have seen the bittersweet tears of grandparents downsizing from the South Valley family home where they raised their children, ready to start a new chapter.

Those moments are the fuel that keeps me going.

Heartwarming Stories from the Road

There are some stories that never leave you.

I remember a young couple who had been turned down by two other lenders before they came to me. They were defeated and convinced they would never own a home. We sat down, worked on a plan, and connected them with the right people. Eight months later, I watched them carry their newborn daughter through the front door of their very first home. The tears of joy we all shared that day are exactly why I am still a Realtor.

I also think of a veteran relocating to Kirtland AFB. He needed a home quickly but had very specific needs for his family. We spent days touring neighborhoods, finding not just a house, but a community where his kids could plug into a great school and feel safe. Knowing I helped ease that transition for someone who served our country is an honor I don’t take lightly.

My Foundation: Valerie and Ryan

I could never have reached this milestone alone. This journey has required late nights, weekend showings, and countless hours on the phone. None of it would have been possible without the unwavering support of my own family.

My wife, Valerie, has been my absolute rock. Through the crazy highs and the challenging lows of the real estate market over the last 20 years, she has been my sanctuary and my biggest cheerleader. Her patience, love, and belief in my mission are woven into every success I have ever had.

And my son, Ryan. Watching him grow up alongside my career has been the greatest joy of my life. In recent years, watching him develop his own passion for this industry and seeing him serve clients with the same integrity and "service before self" mentality has made me incredibly proud.

The Journey Continues: Passionate About Our Community

While this anniversary is a time for reflection, it is also a time to look forward. People often ask me if I’m tired after 20 years. My answer is always a resounding "no."

I am still passionate about serving Albuquerque families. I am still driven by the desire to help you find the space where your family will make memories, host holidays, and celebrate life’s milestones.
